We're headed to Cerro Gordo this weekend.  Should be an interesting ride as here's the report from the head ghost of the old town:

Last I saw, there was no CG road.  I crawled up with my Dodge 2 nites ago,
but it has flooded again since.  Yesterday afternoon's muddy real-time
run-off nearly stopped me and my quad...'cept for some
rock-fill/road-building.

No idea about the condition of the Swansea-CG Mexican Spring Road, given
that Boiler Cyn ran hard enough to close Hwy 136 between Swansea and
Keeler.

It's probably gonna take several days...long ones, for the county to put
the road back in...bottom to top.  Worst I've seen since 1984, except for
what hit me at Swansea in '97.

I've been there and done that a couple of times - so I'm fully prepared!  A group of friends are going up on Saturday and will call me and let me know ahead which route is best,

Have fun!  Wish I was going.  Bad roads, Rubiblue jibing David_B, old smelter stack bowling ... what more can one ask for in a 4WD trip?!!

It might be a good thing that Rubiblue and I aren't going up there at the same time  we could seriously do some damage to the road if storms haven't already.

Darn...we'll miss you, David!!!!!
