I was in Ralph's in La Crescenta taking my 84 year old Mom on her errands. I had just reached in to the cart to put another item on the counter and I had this strange sensation that something was moving. I thought it was the cart. I looked at Mom and she didn't seem to notice anything. I looked at the checker and she sort of eyed me, too. Then it was obvious that the building was moving...but it was silent - there was no noise. The movement was like Ralphs was a boat and we were riding the waves. It seemed like forever...but if finally stopped and we all breathed a sigh of relief. We continued checking out....and didn't notice anything else unusual.

We decided to come back to my 1 story house as opposed to Mom's condo where she's on the second floor...and we listened to everything on the news on my tv in the family room while we ate lunch. My walls are lined with bookcases and hutches, and everything was fine. My cats, dog, and birds, were fine and acting normal. I got up to leave the family room and realized that a two foot wooden sign I have that says "Live Well, Love Much, Off Road Often" had fallen off the bookshelf it was on. The little two inch remote control jeep that sits astride the sign normally had fallen too - guess it decided to go on an off road trip ala earthquake! Other than that and some shattered nerves...we're fine. Mom's condo in La Crescenta is fine, but we opted out on the elevator and took the stairs!

I'm 75 miles west of Vegas and didn't feel a thing, but I think William, the new puppy, felt or heard something, cuz he had a spell of barking at nuthin, about 20 till the hour.

It was barely anything where I was at the Y ...
the first inital jolt , I thought was the A/C unit starting up
on the roof, because the roof sorta shudders when it does.
When the whole room started to move, being the smartie
that I am ( he he ), I realized it was an earthquake  !
I only had 2 kids in the room  and I got them together  and
we stood in the doorway ... no big deal !

A friend of mine lives over in San Dimas by Raging Waters
and said it shook like hell !

My daughter was at summer school and she said they had
to go under their tables etc.
My Hubby and son were in Culver City eating lunch and felt it too.
